EZ Viewer DCM v4 Photo Management Thumbnail Preview Overview

Back to Features

EZ Viewer DCM v4 Thumbnails have been greatly enhanced. The thumbnails of the photos in your collection can be resize dynamically. That means that you can be looking at 100px x 100px thumbnails and change to any size by dragging the size bars or selecting a saved view that has a thumbnail of a different size. All resizing is done using a re-sampling algorithm that will keep the quality of the thumbnail extremely high.
During the cataloging process you select the size of the stored thumbnail for 25 to 300 pixels in width and height, this is so if you never plan to look at the thumbs larger than 125px then you can save space in the database by setting the stored thumb at 125. You can still resize the thumb to a larger view but you are re-sampling up and the preview will suffer slightly. We recommend that you set this at 225px for normal viewing and 300px if you want even better previews.
Another feature is the background re-sampling of the thumbnails. EZ Viewer DCM v4 is a true multi threaded application so it will be re-sampling the initial stored thumbnail in the back ground while you do other work with your photos such as keywording and other cataloging operations.
The Thumbnails can also be rotated in 90 degree increments without affecting the original image, The thumbnail will have a colored border around it signifying that it has been rotated.

In the first example below notice that there are 4 thumbnails in the width of the window. In the second you will see the drag bars showing the width the thumbnails will be when you stop dragging. In the third notice that there are now 3 thumbnails in the width of the window and a vertical scroll bar has been added.
